Earth Day

Hi friends!

I had so much fun making Earth Day crafts with everyone in class. We created paper mache globes, coffee filter globes, and even created an acrostic poem about our planet. My favorite craft was the paper mache globe. It was a four day process. 1st we dipped the newspaper in what looked like a clear glue, and we wrapped the entire balloon. The next day we painted it blue. We had to let it dry all day. The third day we added a second coat of blue paint…let it dry again. On the fourth, and final day we added the green paint by using small sponges. We took our globes home on that Friday…they turned out beautifully! Take a look…

Check out how awesome our coffee filter globes look. We created them by coloring a coffee filter with green, and blue markers, and then Mrs. Hubbert came around and sprayed them with water. We let them dry, and then wahlah…they were ready to tape outside on our classroom wall.

Our next, and final project for the week was creating a paper plate globe to use for our acrostic poems. We used the same paper plates that Mrs. Hubbert gave us to place our coffee filter globes on while they dried…we were practicing our recycling skills. 😉

I hope you enjoyed looking at all of Earth Day crafts. I had a great time learning about ways I can help Mother Earth, and make it a more beautiful place.

Happy learning,

Wellie <3
